Hotelier forgot where he had put 713,000 Euros!

An 87 year old hotelier in Kos, reported the theft of 713.000 Euros from the safety deposit box. After two full days of police investigation, he remembered that he had taken himself!

The strange case was brought to the attention of the Kos prosecutor on the evening of January 5 by the security staff of the hotel belonging to the 87 year old from Zipari, Kos.

Specifically, it was reported that unknown or unidentified assailants had broken in through the door of the office where the safe is placed, in which there was a small hole, presumably made by a drill.

The local police, having collected all the information needed to investigate the case accompanied the 87year old hotelier to inspect the contents of the safe to determine what exactly was missing from inside.

Indeed, officials found that the safe was empty and did not contain the amount of 713.000 euro as claimed by the 87year old hotelier!

Immediately police began investigating the case intensively, but the hotelier suddenly remembered yesterday that the money had actually taken the money himself.

Thus the investigation by the police ended as quickly as it began, and so there was no theft. Inquiries are still being made with regards to the hole found in the safe, which is likely due to an attempt burglary made by unknown or unidentified assailants.
